Different Nutrients To Maintain Health
Research shows that to be able to maintain a good and healthy day to day diet
we have to compensate the foods that we eat on a daily basis. It is not
good for the body to receive too much of one kind of nutrient and not
enough of another, a high intake of calories is also not good for the
body if you do not do enough exercise to compensate them.
Eating the right amount of food for your body and
eating around the same time each day will help you to form a routine
that your body will become accustomed to, which helps maintain your
health and weight at a similar level. By eating moderate amounts of
food at meal time, you can still eat the food you like and keep the
weight you want.
Try to reduce foods that include bad substances
such as saturated fats, but do not eliminate them completely from your
diet. You can find these types of fats in red meat for example, and
instead of eliminating red meat from your diet, try to reduce the
intake of it to once a week. For a more detailed explication, look for
a food pyramid, this will explain everything you need to know.
Did you know that you need over forty different nutrients to maintain a healthy life?
As there is not one single food that supplies you with all of these
nutrients you have to eat a variety of different foods to stay healthy.
Some foods should be eaten on a daily basis and others should be eaten
on a weekly basis or three to four times a week.
Try to eat a lot of food such as whole grain
foods, fruit and vegetables on a daily basis. Research has shown that a
lot of the population does not eat enough of these foods, when we
should eat at least 14 servings a week of pasta and rice, 3 pieces of
fruit a day and at least 4 servings of vegetables a day.
Drinking a lot of water on a daily basis will help
you clean out any toxins that you might have in your body and therefore
make you feel a lot more energetic and healthy. Water also reduces the
intake of calories and takes away false sensations of hunger, which
cause people to snack too may times a day and because of this, put on
weight.
If you have about half an hour a day to spare, a little exercise is always a good way
to stay healthy and maintain the weight you want, or even to loose
weight. Walking up the stairs instead of using the elevator, sit ups
and squats are just a few of the exercises that you can do in hardly
any time at all, at any time of the day and if you make a routine of
it, you will find that you will start to feel better in the space of a
couple of weeks.
If you suffer from health problems and want to get
in shape, loose a bit of weight or even change your diet to a healthier
one, it is recommended to see a professional, such a nutritionist or
your doctor, before starting any changes. They can tell you which diet
and exercise is best for you and your health condition.
